AKM PCB Mounting Current Sensor range extended to +/-180A peak, dc to 1MHz bandwidth, 3kV isolation

AKM has extended their range of PCB Mounting, Analog Signal Output, Open-Loop, Current Sensors that provide current measurement with galvanic isolation to 3kV for power converters, motor control and overcurrent protection.
Unlike most PCB mounting Current Sensors, the AKM Current Sensors utilize an array of extremely low noise Hall elements, rather than integrated Silicon Hall elements, to sense the magnetic field from the primary current with lower noise and much improved signal/noise performance. New Current Sensor ranges from AKM include:

  • The CZ-32XX 7.9 x 7.6mm SMD package with 3.3V rail, +/-1.3% accuracy, 20Arms continuous current limit, dc to 1MHz bandwidth, -40C to +90C temperature rating, linear current ranges extending from +/-8.5A, 155mV/A sensitivity, 9mArms noise; to +/-44A, 30mV/A sensitivity, 20mArms noise.
  • The CZ-37XX 12.7 x 10.9mm SMD package with 5V rail, +/-0.5% accuracy, 60Arms continuous current limit, dc to 400kHz bandwidth, 40C to +105C temperature rating, linear current ranges extending from +/-5.3A, +/-400mV/A sensitivity, 30mArms noise; to +/-180A, +/-12mV/A sensitivity, 100mArms noise.

An Overview of the AKM PCB Mounting Current Sensor range is given in the AKM Current Sensor Parameter Range Chart.
